I had to ask the nurse exactly what they were checking today because this is something I haven’t googled 1,200 times. So firstly, it’s a blood test. It happens between CD 21 and 28 (progesterone levels rise post-ovulation). This period of time is also known as the luteal phase (another new one for me). The luteal phase happens after ovulation and is when your egg would typically drop but is in advance of your period. Good news, my levels looked good today so I assume I did in fact ovulate. I got back Saturday for a second test which, if my progesterone levels drop, will indicate that the egg was not fertilized.
It actually amazes me what our blood can tell us.
